Emergency Dental Care in Mumbai Same-Day Relief

A dental emergency is any problem that needs care quickly to stop severe pain, control bleeding or infection, or save a tooth. Lokdant offers same-day emergency appointments at clinics in Andheri East, Andheri West, Ghatkopar and Santacruz, Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 10 pm, and on Sundays by appointment. Call +91 9619666609 before you leave so we can be ready for you.

Go to a hospital emergency department immediately if you have facial swelling with fever, swelling spreading to the eye or neck, or difficulty breathing or swallowing, or if you have a jaw injury after an accident.

Common dental emergencies we treat

    Severe or throbbing toothache

Swelling of the face, gum or jaw (dental abscess)

    Knocked-out (avulsed) tooth

    Broken, chipped or cracked tooth

Lost filling or crown, or a broken bridge or denture

Bleeding that does not stop after an extraction

Pain or swelling around a wisdom tooth

Injury to teeth, lips or gums from a fall or sports

Broken braces wire poking the cheek

What to do before you reach the clinic

Knocked-out adult tooth: Pick it up by the crown (white part), not the root. If dirty, rinse briefly in milk or water; do not scrub. Try to put it back in the socket and bite on a clean cloth. If you can't, keep it in milk or inside your cheek and reach a dentist within 30–60 minutes. Do not put a knocked-out baby tooth back.

Broken tooth: Save the pieces, rinse your mouth with warm water, and use a cold compress on the cheek.

Toothache: Rinse with warm salt water and floss gently to remove stuck food. Do not place aspirin or clove oil directly on the gum.

Swelling: Apply a cold pack on the outside of the cheek, 15 minutes on and off. Do not apply heat.

Bleeding after extraction: Bite firmly on clean gauze for 30 minutes; avoid spitting or rinsing.

Lost crown: Keep it safe and bring it with you; we can often re-cement it.

How we treat dental emergencies

Quick assessment and X-ray To find the cause.

Pain relief first: Local anaesthesia and immediate steps to settle the pain.

Treat the cause: Drain an abscess, start a root canal, repair the tooth, re-fix a crown, or remove a tooth that cannot be saved.

Clear next steps A written plan and prices for any follow-up treatment.

Hold it by the crown, rinse briefly without scrubbing, and try to put it back in place. If you can't, store it in milk and reach a dentist within 30–60 minutes. The sooner it is replaced, the better the chance of saving it.

Over-the-counter painkillers like paracetamol or ibuprofen can help for a short time if they are safe for you; follow the label or ask a pharmacist. Painkillers do not treat the cause, so see a dentist as soon as possible.

It can be. A dental infection can spread. If swelling is spreading, affects your eye or neck, or you have fever or trouble breathing or swallowing, go to a hospital emergency department right away.

Often, yes. Small chips can be repaired with composite bonding. Larger breaks may need a root canal and crown. A tooth split below the gumline may need extraction and an implant.

Yes. Our pediatric dentist treats children's toothaches and injuries. Do not reinsert a knocked-out milk tooth; bring your child in and we will check the area and the developing tooth.

It depends on what is needed. At Lokdant, abscess drainage is ₹2,000, a root canal ₹2,500, and an extraction from ₹750. You are told the cost before treatment begins.
