Porcelain and Composite Veneers in Mumbai

Veneers are thin, tooth-coloured shells bonded to the front of your teeth to improve their colour, shape, size and alignment. They are made of either porcelain (ceramic) or composite resin. At Lokdant, veneers are planned by cosmetic dentist Dr. Viraj Kakade to suit your face, smile line and skin tone, so the result looks natural, not artificial.

Who are veneers for?

Stained or discoloured teeth that do not lighten with whitening

Chipped, cracked or worn front teeth

    Small gaps between front teeth

Uneven, short or oddly shaped teeth

Mildly crooked teeth (for larger alignment issues, aligners or braces are better)

Veneers are not suitable if you have untreated decay or gum disease, or heavy grinding without a night guard. These are treated first.

How the veneer process works at Lokdant

    Smile consultation:
We check teeth and gums, discuss what you want to change, and take photos and X-rays.

    Smile design:
Shape and shade are planned to suit your face. For porcelain, a trial (mock-up) lets you preview the result.

    Preparation:
For porcelain, a thin layer of enamel is shaped and impressions or scans are taken. Temporary veneers protect the teeth while the lab makes the final ones.

    Bonding:
Veneers are bonded with strong dental cement and the bite is checked. Composite veneers are built, shaped and polished directly on the teeth in one sitting.

    Review:
A follow-up visit to check comfort, bite and gums.

Caring for your veneers

Brush twice a day and floss daily, like natural teeth

Avoid biting nails, pens, ice or opening packets with your teeth

Wear a night guard if you grind your teeth

Limit tea, coffee and tobacco, especially with composite veneers

Visit every 6 months for a check-up and polish

FAQs — Veneers

At Lokdant, composite veneers cost ₹3,000 per tooth and porcelain (E.max) veneers start at ₹7,500 per tooth. The total depends on how many teeth are treated; most smile makeovers cover 6–10 upper teeth.

Porcelain lasts longer (about 10–15 years) and resists stains better. Composite costs less, needs little or no tooth reduction, and is done in one visit, but lasts about 5–7 years. Your dentist will advise based on your teeth, budget and goals.

Porcelain veneers need a thin layer of enamel removed, so the process is not reversible; the tooth will always need a covering. Composite veneers often need little or no enamel removal. When planned well, veneers do not harm the health of the tooth.

No. Porcelain preparation is done under local anaesthesia. Composite veneers often need no anaesthesia at all. Some people feel mild sensitivity for a few days.

Porcelain veneers usually last 10–15 years and composite veneers 5–7 years. Good brushing, regular check-ups and a night guard if you grind can help them last longer.

Veneers can hide small gaps and mild crookedness. For larger gaps or crowding, aligners or braces are a healthier choice, sometimes followed by veneers for the final look.

A veneer covers only the front of a tooth and needs less tooth reduction. A crown covers the whole tooth and is used when a tooth is weak, heavily filled or root-canal treated.

Not when they are designed well. We match the shade, shape and size to your face and neighbouring teeth, and preview the result before final bonding, so the smile looks natural.
